The Lead Facilities Maintenance Worker CL2 - Arena Operations serves in a critical role with general oversight of the Alfond Arena involving maintenance and operations of the arena and ice surface. This position pays $20.48/hour, or applicable transfer rate.
Essential Duties:
- Supervises student or temporary employees during a major portion of the employees work time and supervises other regular employees during a minor portion of the work time; duties include assigning, reviewing, and evaluating work
- Oversees patron use of the facility.
- Maintains the ice surface and is responsible. For laying and removing it.
- Cleans and maintains seating areas, locker rooms and auxiliary areas.
- Prepares for and assists with special events, such as tournaments and clinics.
- May assist with athletic field maintenance.
- Monitors arena refrigeration and air quality temperature.
- Oversees skate Sharpening operation.
- Teaches and enforces safety regulations.
- Collects money from customers for admissions and skate rentals.
- Operates and performs routine or minor maintenance on the Zamboni machine, and other equipment or facilities.
- Maintains spare parts inventory.

Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) AND sufficient experience, including custodial or grounds-related work experience.
- Outstanding interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and handle working against a deadline.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred:
- Experience with operating a Zamboni.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Experience in ice maintenance and NCAA Division I surface standards.
