Summary of position:
The Laboratory Technologist performs medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses to provide data used by doctors to diagnose, treat, and prevent disease. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing all facets of testing including preparing calibrators, quality controls, and samples for analysis, preparing chemical reagents and performing maintenance of instrumentation. This position requires strong analytical reasoning, analytical instrument operating experience and excellent troubleshooting capabilities in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conducts chemical analyses of patient specimens, including urine and blood, to determine the presence of normal and abnormal components.
- Analyzes chromatographic and mass spectral data generated by our GC and LC labs.
- Analyzes test results and enters findings in specimen database.
- Performs and records quality control to ensure accuracy of clinical data.
- Prepares chemical reagents.
- Perform daily maintenance of analytical instruments.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on instruments and equipment per established schedule.
- Operate Shimadzu LCMS and/or Agilent GCMS.
- Able to critically assess testing systems to ensure running optimally and communicate any deviations to management.
- Accurately pipettes samples and reagents. Manages sample workflow.
- Able to meet turnaround time requirements of patient testing.
- Able to clearly document in applicable logs and LIMS system for traceability daily.
- Follows Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures for all tasks.
- Follow all CLIA regulatory requirements.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in science or medical technology/clinical laboratory science from a four-year college or university required.
- Experience working in LC and GC laboratories preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Pay: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour
