Laboratory Assistant

PacGenomics is a clinical molecular genetics laboratory with a CLIA-certification, CAP-credential and New York State health department credential. The company was founded in 2011 and is located in Agoura Hills, California. We are currently providing NGS-based reproductive genetic testing and infectious disease diagnosis. We are looking for a highly motivated laboratory administrative assistant to join our team. The Accessioning technician will ensure proper handling of all specimens received and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.

This position includes such functions as data entry, scanning to check in samples, verifying sufficiency, matching patient information, ensure that the labels are correct on the specimens and coincide with the information provided.

Reject samples that do not meet criteria. These duties will include, but are not limited to:

• sample accession
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of patient paperwork
• Locate and correct any discrepancies or errors during sample processing
• Create and proofread patient reports
• Test results send out
• Provide support for clerical test result inquiries (Correction of names, email address and other patient information)
• Monitor report sending out
• File both digital and paper copies of patient reports
• Perform other clinical laboratory administrative work as needed
• Other lab administrative assistant jobs as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy CPT-1
• Some relative experience required: 1-2 years preferred.
• Previous medical or production experience is a plus.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.
• Experience working in a team environment .
• Strong organizational skills.BS degree needed, can be currently enrolled as a student.
