Job Description
The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the quality and consistency of food production, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized culinary environment. This position involves coordinating kitchen staff, managing inventory, and collaborating with the Executive Chef to uphold culinary standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure high quality and consistency
- Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and cooking standards
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders for ingredients, and manage stock rotation
- Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards and food handling procedures
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create menus, develop new recipes, and plan special events or promotions
- Maintain kitchen equipment and facilities, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness
- Resolve issues or conflicts that may arise within the kitchen team
- Conduct regular inspections to assess cleanliness, organization, and food quality
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role, with supervisory or leadership experience in a commercial kitchen setting
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and culinary techniques
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide kitchen staff
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus
- Must have valid CA Food Handler certification
- Must be available for all shifts including weekends and holidays
Pay: $30.00 to $32.00/hour - The pay scale provided is a range that Omni Hotels & Resorts reasonably expects to pay. Actual compensation offered may fluctuate based on a candidate's qualifications and/or experience.
