Food Services Worker

Job Description

Typical Tasks:

• Prepares and cooks meats, vegetables and other foods in accordance with menu
• Operates standard cooking equipment, such as ranges, mixers, food choppers and refrigerators
• Supervises cleaning of kitchen and equipment by inmate trusties
• Receives and stocks food supplies, maintains sanitary standards
• Participates in serving food
• Assists in menu preparation

Performs additional duties as assigned. Thorough knowledge of and extensive experience in the preparation, cooking and serving of food in large quantities; and of the use and care of utensils and equipment; general knowledge of food values and nutrition; skill in cutting and carving meat; ability to supervise others in elementary food preparation and cooking processes; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees; ability to work for considerable periods of time under conditions of high temperature

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age
• Have a High School Diploma/GED
• Have a valid Virginia Driver’s License
• All applicants must pass a criminal background investigation and pre-employment drug screen.

Pay: $40,046.00 per year

Weekly day range:

• Monday to Friday
• Rotating weekends
• Weekends as needed
