Junior Accountant

New York-based food and beverage firm in Flushing, Queens (back office) seeks a Junior Accountant. We are searching for a motivated Accountant with multitasking and time management skills. A qualified candidate should have an understanding of accounting knowledge and proficiency with computer and software, such as MS Excel and QuickBooks.

Job Responsibilities:

· Support duties mainly related to accounts receivable functions

· Maintain sales bookkeeping databases and spreadsheets, updating information as needed

· Assist with preparation of financial and statistical statements and reports

· Analyze financial information in order to identify discrepancies; Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion

· Maintain confidentiality of all financial data

· Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices

· Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances

· Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries

· Disburses petty cash by recording entry and verifying documentation

· Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices

· Collect information to our CPA for payroll audit purpose

Qualification:

· Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)

· Familiarity with finance regulations

· Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy

· At minimum, an Bachelor's degree in Accounting

· Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive

· Chinese fluency preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
