SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting the information systems and assist with production systems within the bacon plant. Work will be primarily performed in the St. Joseph Mo. but we assist and support other locations. Projects may include installation of new electronic and computer systems, troubleshooting and repair of information systems. Maintain industry specific equipment including inventory management system devices, digital timeclocks, and some automated equipment. This position will report to the Information Systems Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following: (other duties may be assigned)
- Manage and implement break/fixes for any issues that arise with laptop/desktop computers or mobile production equipment.
- Assist with application and desktop support, monitoring and maintaining all the Company's computer systems.
- Assist with design and implementation of production floor projects. These may require a fair amount of time on the production floor where we produce bacon. Forklifts, conveyors, slicers, smokehouses, and other industrial machines are present.
- Assist Information Services team with local and remote Microsoft Windows support responsibilities.
- Implement and follow best practices for networking, architecture and security teams
- Create, maintain, and discover ways to automate any/all IT department processes leading to site consistency and reliability.
- Write standard operation procedures and knowledge base articles as needed.
- Maintain any plant specific auxiliary servers, processes, etc. for specific departments.
- Create and maintain an updated WIM image complying with Seaboard Corp policies and needs of the Daily's organization. Distribute and support WIM image for any IT personnel at the various sites.
- Create batching, scripting, or other automated processes as desired by IT (Seaboard or Daily's) and plant management to efficiently execute needed tasks.
- Be a liaison between IT and Maintenance dept for various projects and projects where there is overlap/handoff between IT/Maintenance
- Special project work as needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Certifications are desired such as:
- CompTIA A+,
- CompTIA Network +,
- CompTIA Server+ or equivalent OTJ is acceptable.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must be able to effectively communicate in English including reading, writing, and speaking. Bilingual in Spanish is desired
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Must be able to solve problems quickly and with good judgment.

Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 65 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. May be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Will work near moving mechanical devices/machines. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and vibration. Industrial noise level in the production environment is at or above 85 decibels, requiring use of hearing protection. Safety is a core value and must be put before Production.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided when working on the production floor. Steel-toed boots or shoes will be required but can be purchased at a discount through the company.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Hours and days of work are established as needed by Operations and at the discretion of Management and, while generally as shown below, may be changed (increased or decreased) by management as required. Will work a minimum of 8 hours per day, and may work overtime as needed and approved, but typically five days per week with some weekend work occasionally to complete special projects.
