Billing Analyst
The Billing Analyst records the day-to-day transactions related to Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), and invoicing within the customer billing application. Assists with other various activities in the accounting department, including payroll and providing back-office support for operations.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the design and implementation of billing processes for new customers and recommend process improvements when needed.
- Ensuring invoices accurately reflect the terms and conditions agreed to in the professional services agreements and comply with governmental rules and regulations.
- Investigates and resolves billing discrepancies and errors.
- Creating invoices and billing materials to be sent directly to a customer
- Inputting payment history, upcoming payment information or other financial data into an individual account
- Verifies that the final billing entry is accurate before submitting
- Performs billing adjustment activities, researches payroll issues, and provides support for payroll adjustments
- Tracks outstanding billing issues, follows through, and resolves in a timely and professional manner
- Enter billing information into customer billing application
- Ensures completeness of billing and payroll data
- Reviews time entry data between multiple systems (comparing internal and external data) to ensure accuracy.
- Tracks recurring data entry/payroll issues and communicates with management so targeted training can be provided to resolve issues
- Maintain organized records of transactions for auditing purposes
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of billing or accounting experience
- Experience working in the telecommunications industry and/or with Frontier or Lumen systems is highly preferred.
- A combination of staffing agency and corporate experience is preferred.
- Prior experience in telecommunications industry is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Excellent computer skills required including extensive experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel & Outlook).
