Job Description
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for performing the installation, configuration, administration, and support of Onset’s computer systems and the support of our user community. This position, after the initial training period, is a hybrid position working three days per week in the office and two days from home.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and support information technology, including computer systems, networks, Wi-Fi, desktops/laptops, and the software/operating systems they are running.
- Install, configure, administer, and support server and storage infrastructure, operating systems, physical hardware, and virtual hosting environment (VMware and Amazon Web Services)
- Manage, configure, and administer network switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Perform all duties ensuring the security of data, network access, and systems backup.
- Ensure monthly patch management compliance and resolve issues that prevent systems from being updated.
- ERP support (Cloud Suite Industrial/Syteline 10), systems and user administration, light customization, and support of integrations with other business systems
- Salesforce.com administration, custom report creation, and data management
- Act in alignment with business and user needs and contribute/support organizational policy
- Perform helpdesk and end-user support to ensure internal customers are supported in a professional, courteous, and timely manner with good communication during the process. Assist other system administrators with difficult issues
- Preserve assets, information security, and control structures.
- Perform ITOps support duties, including supporting our e-commerce website onsetcomp.com and external customer applications HOBOlink and InTempConnect. Participate in the IT on-call rotation.
- Other duties as directed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or a similar field, or equivalent work experience. 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar IT role
- Competencies include attention to detail, effective and clear communication with people at all levels of the business, customer focus, decision-making, and demonstrated good judgment.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Able to work independently as well as a part of a team
Required Computer Skills
- Strong Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016+, and Microsoft Office 365 network and firewall experience required.
- VMware, Linux, and AWS experience.
- Experience with Meraki layer 2 & 3 switches and Wi-Fi, Sonicwall Firewalls, and VPN
- Syteline or other ERP, database / SQL Server is a bonus. Salesforce.com administration, custom report generation, etc. a plus.
