Job description

Under the direction of the Vice President of Information Technology, the Junior Systems Administrator is responsible for end user technical support and systems administration throughout the entire Ascentria infrastructure with primary focus on Skilled Nursing. Support issues will range from initial system setup (including hardware and software for desktops, laptops, and smartphones) to troubleshooting application issues, to basic server side support. The ability to work with 3rd party Managed Service Provider as a partner will be essential to success in this position.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Deliver IT support to users, configure and maintain workstations.
  • Install, configure and maintain hardware, network software, operating system software, software applications as well as various computing devices.
  • Supporting staff use of technology resources with timely and appropriate assistance, both onsite and remotely.
  • Evaluating and responding to requests, and escalating requests to senior members of the IT team.
  • Assisting with staff orientation (technology tools, resources, policies and procedures).
  • Staff training (system and application use).
  • Monitor and communicate user concerns, provide input and guidance on options, opportunities for improvement, documentation and training resources.
  • Support network and systems efforts to improve availability of resources.
  • Collaborative involvement in planning and operations.
  • Deploy, monitor and maintain mobile devices and associated MDM.
  • Implement MFA across various systems.
  • Address network downtime and outages; take appropriate steps to remediate.
  • Assist in various projects and implementations.
  • Maintain awareness of advances in information technology and recommend modifications to systems.
  • Follow established practices and standards for workstation configurations, naming conventions, and other established procedures.
  • Other assigned duties and responsibilities consistent with knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Technology or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1 - 3 years' experience installing operating systems and applications, installing and troubleshooting hardware, operating systems and office productivity software required.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft architecture including Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, TCPIP and LAN/WLAN/WAN technologies is desired.
  • Working knowledge of Point Click Care is a plus.
  • 1 -3 years' experience with mobile device applications and management is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 & Azure AD with MFA protocols is highly desired.
  • Experience with Android/iOS/ChromeOS tablets and phones required.
  • Requires some evening and weekend.
  • Travel required throughout New England on a daily basis.
