It Support Specialist

Protect CPU is an IT / Managed Service Provider in Miami Florida that has actively been in business since 2015. We specialize in helping SMB's with their IT needs. We are looking to hire an entry level technician who is willing to learn the trade while actively pursing a College Degree in Computer Information Systems (or related). The candidate will work from home primarily but on occasion travel to a customer’s location when an issue presents itself that cannot be fixed remotely. This is the perfect opportunity for a student who wants to get real-world experience in the field while earning an income.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Interact with our customers via our help desk portal, email, telephone, or in person to provide technical support on the products and services we provide
• Ensure prompt and accurate steps are taken to resolve customer issues and concerns
• Escalate issues to our lead technician when appropriate
• Document problems and resolutions of each issue that arise
• Enhance and update internal and our customer's documentation portals
• Actively learn current and new technologies

Required Skills / Abilities:

• Basic understanding and personal experience with computer hardware, software, and operating systems
• Posses a positive and respectful attitude and genuinely want to help people
• Ability to follow a code of conduct and principles such as honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and objectivity as well as obeying local laws and regulations
• Eager to learn the trade through mentorship, online documentation, videos, and/or real-world experience
• Fluent in English (Spanish a Plus)

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Enrolled in college or certificate program focused on a degree in Computer Information Systems or related study

Required Misc:

• A quiet work area at home with internet access
• Working automobile with driver's license and car insurance
• Live within 50 miles of Miami Florida

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk working on a computer
• Be able to comfortably lift up to 10 pounds (e.g. computer, printers, network devices, and other related equipment)
