IT Support Specialist   

General Purpose of Job    

This position provides technical assistance to end-users in supporting personal computers and other related computer hardware and peripheral devices; software installation; diagnosing hardware and software problems; assisting with the use of internal and external computer systems.   

    

Sr. IT Support Specialist   

The IT Senior Support Specialist is responsible for working with IT Support Specialists to resolve issues that are more complex or need a higher level of knowledge to troubleshoot. They are also responsible for the administration of Active Directory users, groups and requisitioning of IT desktop equipment and peripherals.   

During high volume periods this position will assist IT Support Specialists by answering incoming requests. The work is performed under supervision of the IT Support Supervisor.

IT Support Specialist   

Education   

Minimum    

High School or GED   

    

    

    

Experience   

Minimum    

Two (2) years responsible experience installing, supporting, and troubleshooting PC hardware, software, and networks; and peripheral equipment.   

    

Sr. IT Support Specialist   

Education   

Preferred    

2 Year / Associate Degree   

Major:   

Information Technology or related field    

    

Minimum   

MS 365 Desktop or equivalent certification.   

    

Experience   

Minimum    

Five (5) years of experience supporting MS Desktop operating systems, and mobile devices. Preferred experience with server-side support such as Azure Active Directory, Active Directory or Exchange.   

    

Education and/or Experience Notes   

Job related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.    

    

    

IT Support Specialist & Sr. IT Support Specialist   

    

 Other Requirements    

  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including a personal computer, printers, copy machines, telephone, and fax machine.
  • Ability to work irregular hours for assignment completion and flexibility to change scheduling and report to work on short notice during emergency situations.
  • A valid Florida driver’s license for regular driving privileges of a company vehicle; must have and maintain an acceptable driving record as determined by SECO Energy.
  • Frequent business travel to all areas of service territory required.
  • Normal work hours shall be eight (8) hours between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.

    

IT Support Specialist & Sr. IT Support Specialist   

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities   

  • Ability to maintain confidential information; ability to multi-task and effectively manage time and changing priorities while maintaining composure.
  • Excellent customer service orientation, interpersonal and communications skills including written, verbal, and listening for interaction with employees, management, vendors, consultants and others; ability to analyze and interpret job related business periodicals and technical manuals.
  • English is the primary business language. Second language in Spanish is desirable.

    

IT Support Specialist   

  • Knowledge of how to scan, detect and eliminate both viruses and malware; provide remote desktop support; ability to configure, deploy and maintain Windows print services; and other company used software applications.
  • Proficiency in the operation of personal computers; mobile devices; various peripheral equipment; functional knowledge of MS Windows Operating Systems; software applications including MS 365 products; ability to acquire knowledge of corporate software and customer information programs.

    

Sr. IT Support Specialist   

  • Ability to assist users with high level Application support and troubleshooting when needed.
  • Experience in scanning and eliminating both viruses and malware.
  • Experience with an increasing level of responsibility within an IT helpdesk environment.
  • High level of technical knowledge of, computers, and peripherals, mobile devices
  • Needs to have experience working and participating in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Provide local and remote support using business class on premise and remote access tools.

IT Support Specialist   

  • Setup, configure and maintain PC workstations, Mobile Devices, and associated software, including but not limited to, Windows operating systems; Microsoft 365 products, Internet Browsers, print services; provide guidance, technical support, and training to all locations for PC and telephone end users as requested.
  • Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve problems with all end user devices, operating systems, and software in a timely manner via the Company ticketing system
  • Maintain documentation and provide instruction to end-users on new devices or applications and add and update IT Support internal Knowledgebase.

    

Sr. IT Support Specialist   

  • Resolution of complex IT issues as assigned
  • Track client software packages to maintain proper licensing and assign licenses as needed; perform internal audits to verify that agreements are adhered to.
  • Maintains computer image library to ensure OS and Drivers are up to date.
  • Responsible for the requisitioning of Mobile devices and IT peripherals
  • Create and maintain Active Directory users and groups as needed
  • Assist the IT Support Supervisor with establishing on-going standards for desktop hardware and software; assist in developing policies and evaluating procedures as they apply to the use of device hardware and software.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding the constant changes in technology; make recommendations on future upgrades and advancements in computer hardware and software to enhance efficiency and cost savings.
  • Maintain and Audit internal IT Support Knowledgebase.
  • Responsible for IT Support documentation maintenance.

pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.   

    

This position has general office environment with frequent local business travel between SECO Energy’s offices. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
