Job Description
- Work with customers in South Carolina to improve the monitoring and control capabilities of our system, including:
- The development of new components to monitor additional equipment/systems
- Modify existing components to improve performance and functionality
- Re-configuration of existing systems to leverage new functionality within our business
- Promptly communicate any issues with existing functionality to the project manager
- Troubleshoot software issues and address them as necessary
- Perform installation and configuration when new systems are deployed, or existing systems are being upgraded
- Perform integration testing of all new components that are to be implemented
- Ensure all new development conforms to the latest IA guidelines as provided by the customer
- Conduct periodic demonstrations of existing business functionality to current and potential customers that visit the site
- Prioritize, organize, and delegate development tasks to engineers in the home office
- Train and advise customer personnel in the use and functionality of the system
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
- Secret Clearance
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time
- Systems Engineering and/or basic programming
- Industry experience in software development
- Experience with basic networking concepts including an understanding of the OSI layers, TCP/UDP, VLANs
- Experience with one or more basic network monitoring tools including SNMP, Netflow, and Syslog
- Familiarity with Linux environments (preferably RedHat)
- Experience in interacting with a customer on a daily basis (face-to-face)
- Industry experience in using ActiveMQ
- Industry experience in using Apache Solr
- Experience with conveying technical knowledge to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with front-end technologies such as Vue or Node
- RF Engineering experience/knowledge
- Knowledge in routing protocols, including BGP, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP
