About the Role
This Network Engineer position is located in Carrollton, GA and is for 1st shift. This position reports to the IT Technical Support supervisor and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below. Responsibilities include supporting two datacenters and enterprise network solutions; troubleshooting, installing, implementing and administering network systems and providing Tier III support.

• To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department's established procedures and work instructions.
Your Responsibilities
• Support on-site and remote datacenter: Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012, 2019 versions, MS SQL Server 2012 and 2019 configuration & deployment in conventional, Citrix & VMWare environments. PDU & Battery Backup configuration & installation. Installation of network appliances, network cabling & patch panels. Monitoring & 1st tier troubleshooting of all network appliances.
• System Administration: Server maintenance, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, VMs via Citrix & VMware Infrastructure, Network Share & Storage Management, SQL Server 2012, user access, Windows Print servers, Pulse Secure VPN, MS Azure and O365, Crowdstrike anti-virus and EDI transaction administration.
• Working familiarity with Cisco with hands-on experience configuring routers, switches and firewalls.
• Provide support for network connectivity or related network issues for the user community.
• Network Installation: Plans and monitors the installation of network systems.
• Network Monitoring: Analyzes network activity and network problems to discover and prevent systematic errors. Recommends network design changes/enhancements for improved systems availability and performance.
• Issue Resolution: Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves network problems. Researches, analyzes and recommends the implementation of software or hardware changes to rectify any network deficiencies or to enhance network performance.
• Capacity Planning: Analyzes facilities bandwidth requirements and system interdependencies. Develops capacity planning models.
• Ensures planned testing activities are performed and technical criteria are met for DR.
• Assesses network performance to ensure that it meets the present and future needs of the business. Provides network planning recommendations to management.
• Knowledge of Enterprise system monitoring and management tool.
• Knowledge of commercial enterprise-level tools and products to provide network services, including: firewalls, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security, TACACS+, VPN and NAC.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with IT and Non-It Staff
• Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Great people skills are a must!
Who we are looking for
• Experienced in a PC/Local Area Network/Wide Area Network support environment.
• Six to ten years of relevant IT work experience
• CCNP, or CCVP, or CCNP Wireless, or CCSP AND the Design Professional (CCDP) Certifications
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix and other open source software.
• Ability to support network, server, storage virtualization, i.e. MDS switching infrastructure, VSAN, VRF, VPN, and VMWare, vSphere.
• Extensive experience with VoIP. Knowledge of voice technologies is also very useful.
Your preferred qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or relevant field) preferred or related certifications and minimum 5 years of datacenter and/or system administration experience.
