Job Summary #CA-FT
The IT Clinical Imaging Manager reports to the Director of IT Enterprise Imaging and leads a team that consist of clinical application analysts and imaging specialists. This position will have direct reports, and occasionally manage technical contractors, professional consultants, and vendor resources.
This position manages the implementation and optimization of imaging applications and integrations conducive to the optimization and execution of UCDH strategic objectives. This position will also manage system enhancements, maintenance, and operational support of the imaging applications, hardware, and interfaces. This position partners with clinical departments and teams to implement robust clinical software solutions, reporting services, artificial intelligence, and integrations. This position collaborates with clinical and non-clinical department administrators throughout the Health System and remote clinics sites, on optimization and support for imaging and expansion of current solutions.
Ensures departmental technology plans and goals are in alignment with Health System technology strategy, standards, and infrastructure requirements. Works collaboratively with a wide variety of UCDH departments to identify Clinical Imaging technology integration requirements and develop strategies to satisfy those needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
  • Advance customer service and experience coordinating work with others, both internally and externally, to accomplish tasks.
  • Experience with organizational strategies, business operations, and end-user requirements to develop system design and clinical projects.
  • Experience leading and managing multiple teams to work under deadlines, remain within budget, and meet client requirements. Skills to employ industry practices and tools to effectively manage clinical systems given financial and staffing resources within the unit.
  • Experience delegating effectively and ensuring staff is accountable for assignments and progress.
  • Experience in the management of ongoing technology infrastructure acquisition and expansion, to include the identification and integration of suitable emerging technologies.
  • Experience providing application support by managing service tickets, incidents, patches, and upgrading.
  • Proven managerial skills in planning, delegating work, deploying staff, human resource management, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively manage the cross-functional interactions between leadership, peers, teams, end-users, technology vendors, and other UC professionals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear, concise, and specific manner to stakeholders and groups with potentially varying levels of technological sophistication.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with senior management on developing strategies, objectives, and goals in alignment with the mission and vision.
  • Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and interrupt complex data and systems, to quickly identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing IT professionals and collaborating with operational staff and clinicians.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior work experience in healthcare, research, or academic institution. Demonstrates continuous technical training & development.
  • Imaging application implementation and operational support experience, imaging informatics certification
  • Experience creating policies, procedures, and processes for clinical application support activities and managing projects.
  • Knowledge and understanding of UC Davis Health policies and procedures. Knowledge of ITIL Service Delivery principles and tools.
  • Advanced decision-making, critical thinking, analytical skills.

Department Description
The IT Enterprise Imaging Team is part of the Clinical Applications Team and Innovation Technology's Applications Center of Excellence. The IT Enterprise Imaging Team delivers imaging solutions and services to operational and clinical departments in support of staff, faculty, students, and patients.
The Enterprise Imaging department leverages partnerships within IT, Clinical Operations, Clinical Engineering, vendor, and clinical divisions to optimize operational effectiveness.
Position Information
  • Salary or Pay Range: $7,991.67- $15,825.00

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Must be available to work extended hours, weekends, or evenings to meet critical deadlines and support mission critical clinical systems.
  • Must be available for 24-hour a day on-call rotation.
  • May require working in clinical and patient care areas.
  • Requires supporting clinical systems in various hospital locations, clinics, and outlying buildings.
