Seeking Management Team Member for Sports Picture Days

Energy Imaging Youth Sports Photography is looking to grow our core management team by hiring a technology and solutions oriented person in the role of Photo Manager. There are responsibilities listed below, but we are remaining flexible for the right person. Overlapping skills, a growth mindset, and being a quick learner weigh far more than specific photography experience because we use a simple repetitive process that needs to stay consistent.

Energy Imaging is a family business based in Vacaville with a studio on Davis St. For more than 12 years we have been photographing little leagues, football clubs, soccer programs, martial arts schools, preschools and more. Our Picture Days have a team of 2-3 people per camera working together rotating positions and responsibilities including greeting families, finding picture slips by last name, checking uniforms, directing kids for posing, and ultimately taking their photos. We smile, we have music on, we socialize, we wear tie dye, we tell kids they look great! We build the teams digitally, then families order pictures online later. So Picture Day is all about getting great individual smiles and buddy pics. NO tournaments, event coverage, or team group pics.

Our schedule is unique, making this mainly a seasonal gig with very loose winters and summers. We are constantly expanding and getting busier, so we want someone who can grow with the company. The primary busy seasons are MARCH and SEPTEMBER with overlap into April and October. Those months have 1-2 picture days per weekend and our studio is open all week. We try to schedule out as far as possible in advance so everyone knows what to expect.

Travel gigs are typically in Woodland, Winters, Suisun, Fairfield, Napa, Sacramento, Etc. Many picture days are in our Vacaville studio, but we are growing with more leagues requiring travel within an hour of VV. Travel days will be indoors, typically in a gym at the local school.

Experience with kids/moms/dads, and sports in general are all excellent skills to bring to the table. Most important is the positive attitude and good vibes, making sure the customer experience is fast, friendly, and fun.

Photo Manager Primary Responsibilities:

-reporting directly to Studio Manager, collab on picture day schedules/staffing

-Be the main Photographer and/or manage team of photographers

-Be a Team Member and/or manager on some Vacaville Studio Days

-Be the Primary Manager on Travel Picture Days (follow a set system)

-managing all equipment including setup/breakdown and transport

-drive our van with gear (and staff) to locations within 20-60 minutes of Vacaville

-manage flow of subjects, quality control, staff breaks, and overall vibe.

-ability to notice an issue with photos or gear and troubleshoot

-Image review and “picking” following picture days

Possible Depending on interest/experience:

-backend image processing (set systems to follow, easy to learn)

-Lightroom color batching

-Photoshop team building

-Photoshop image batching

-Uploading jobs to final galleries

-graphic design support (banners/flyers/web images/merch)

-social media / sales / customer service

-Other skill sets that may apply?

Busy Season Estimation:

(Total hours per month, can and will vary, primarily evenings and weekends)

**March - 50+hrs - baseball/softball

**April - 20+hrs

June - 20+hrs - baseball all stars

**Sep - 50+hrs - football/soccer

**Oct - 20+hrs

Approximately 300 hours a year currently.

Pay: $20-30+/hr DOE plus seasonal Bonuses and room to grow
