A Brief Overview
Reporting to the Administrative Director Radiology, the Manager - Imaging Services is responsible for the overall operational and financial management and the technical/ancillary staff for the clinical site. Primary duties include designing, monitoring and managing assigned technical and clerical areas to provide and promote high quality, customer focused, efficient, cost effective services in compliance with SHC, accrediting and regulatory requirements. Hires, trains and manages assigned staff and utilization of resources within assigned areas to meet financial and productivity standards, quality standards and strategic goals of the clinic, department and hospital. In collaboration with the Administrative Director, Medical Director, Marketing Manager and other key physicians and administrative leaders, develops implements and maintains policies, procedures. Provides input to the development of business/strategic plans. The Manager Imaging Services ensures that all new operational systems, projects and programs are evaluated for alignment to clinic, departmental and hospital goals and priorities. Specific responsibilities include participation with capital/operating budget development, execution and management. Also responsible for development and implementation of department operations improvement plans and quality management processes.

What you will do

  • Addresses individual staff performance issues as needed; directs the design and implementation of corrective action plan where performance is an issue. Mediates individual issues and refers to superior any unresolved issues relating to staffing, morale, scheduling, discipline, safety and other actions regarding assigned personnel. Implements corrective action, up to and including termination if necessary.
  • Collaborates with the Business Manager, Administrative Director and Medical Director develops capital budget for clinic. Also works with Medical Director and Business Manager to develop cost standards, updates charge master and cost accounting data for assigned technical areas.
  • Collaborates with the Medical Director, Business Manager, Marketing Manager and other key leaders ensures that annual operating budgets and marketing plans are developed, implemented and monitored in order to meet the financial goals of the organization, to meet or exceed budget targets and that budget variances are resolved or justified. Provides appropriate reports as requested.
  • Collaborates with the Purchasing Department for contract negotiation and agreements with vendors for services and supplies for the center in order to maximize economy of scale, cost effectiveness and integration. Ensures appropriate inventory of supplies and services in order to maximize quality of service and minimize cost per test.
  • Develops and maintains an effective and efficient system of information, records and reports, utilizing manual and electronic systems. Evaluates space and utility requirements needed to meet the Center needs.
  • Develops, implements, monitors and continuously improves customer service, technical, clinical policies and procedures and instrumentation as required. Standardizes and consolidates technical processes and efforts when appropriate.
  • Develops, implements, monitors and continuously improves quality programs for assigned technical and ancillary areas. Promotes continuous improvement in quality of Radiology services, service delivery, customer satisfaction, and cost effectiveness through coordination of quality and resource/risk management programs.
  • Directs staff in adherence to Service Excellence Standards.
  • Ensures compliance with State, Federal and local regulatory agency requirements and accreditation organizations.
  • Evaluates the requirement for and cost effectiveness of all equipment at each site for assigned areas. Plans and manages the implementation and maintenance of clinical equipment for the assigned technical areas.
  • Supports and collaborates with Administrative Director, Medical Director, physician leadership and other managers to implement new services and programs.
  • Hires technical and ancillary staff for center with approval in selection process from Administrative Director and Medical Director.
  • Maintains staff competency levels to handle technical/ancillary responsibilities and customer service needs by developing competency standards and measurement tools and assuring that staff is appropriately licensed, certified, trained and evaluated on a regular basis.
  • Manages operational, financial, technical/administrative activities for the Center. Includes participation and input for budget development, financial forecasting, monitoring and management. Ensures that systems are developed and monitored to maximize volume, billings and collections.
  • Manages the effective delivery of quality Radiology services for assigned technical areas; meeting customer needs and department and community best practice standards.

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or university

Experience Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with hospital staff, physicians and the general public

  • Knowledge of budgets and financial management procedures including analytical ability in order to develop processes and create solutions to problems for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Knowledge of computer software applications including PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication systems) and RISC-Centricity (Radiology Information System Consortium), Word, PowerPoint, Excel and the Internet
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, fiscal and personnel management
  • Knowledge of trends in health care and Radiology to promote change and to stimulate new programdevelopment

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $70.43 - $93.34 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
