Lab Manager/Development Specialist - Imaging Lab
We are seeking a highly experienced Lab Manager/Development Specialist to lead our Imaging Lab, overseeing the day-to-day operations and contributing to the advancement of imaging technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing a laboratory environment, be well-versed in imaging techniques, and have a hands-on approach to equipment and project management.
Responsibilities:
Manage the Imaging Lab, including equipment setup, maintenance, and calibration to ensure optimal functionality.
Conduct hands-on experiments and measurements, ensuring precision and accuracy in data collection.
Design, develop and enhance the lab test fixtures based on the project requirements in a fast pace product development environment.
Oversee and conduct experiments related to imaging technologies and optics, including but not limited to cameras, sensors, optics, near-eye-display and image processing.
Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to develop and implement imaging projects and methodologies.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized lab space.
Train and mentor lab staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Collaborate with external partners and vendors for equipment sourcing and maintenance.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in imaging technologies, contributing insights to ongoing projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Imaging Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Optics or related field.
Proven experience in managing an Imaging Lab, including hands-on experience with equipment setup and calibration.
Strong background in imaging techniques, including displays, cameras, sensors, lens and image processing.
In-depth knowledge of optical testing methodologies, measurement techniques, and image quality metrics.
Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory compliance in a laboratory setting.
Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
Experience in training and mentoring lab personnel.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Imaging Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Optics, or a related field.
Proven experience in managing an Imaging Lab, including hands-on experience with equipment setup and calibration.
Familiarity with imaging techniques encompassing displays, cameras, sensors, lenses, and image processing.
Knowledge of optical testing methodologies, measurement techniques, and image quality metrics.
Understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance in a laboratory setting.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Requirements:
Master's or Ph.D. in Imaging Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Optics, or a related field.
10 years experience in managing an Imaging Lab, demonstrating a track record of successful project contributions.
Comprehensive understanding and application of AR/VR imaging techniques across various technologies (cameras, sensors, optics, display, etc.).
Proficiency in developing and enhancing lab test fixtures in a fast-paced product development environment.
Previous collaborations with external partners and vendors for equipment sourcing and maintenance.
Advanced knowledge of optical testing methodologies, measurement techniques, and image quality metrics, showcasing innovation in implementation.
Exceptional leadership skills, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Active involvement in staying updated with industry trends and advancements in imaging technologies, offering valuable insights for ongoing projects.
