The Senior Core Technology Manager, which is based in Sunnyvale, will be a member of a team of core technology managers responsible for managing audio and imaging core technologies used in a wide variety of products to deliver best-in-class experiences with Dolby content. The team develops and supports several scalable core technology components used across the Dolby entertainment ecosystems. The Senior Core Technology Manager is responsible for the management of one or more Core Imaging Technology components.
Responsibilities:
You will create and maintain forward looking horizontal, cross-business technical strategies for core imaging technologies by engaging with technology leads of relevant businesses to understand their longer-term core technology needs. You will engage with product managers on their shorter-term core technology requirements and with the imaging research team to help drive the activities needed by core technologies. This role involves engaging with technical leaders in the industry on their needs and vision of the future and developing a technical vision for the core technologies they manage. You'll be responsible for helping to define core technology component requirements and longer-term roadmaps, ensuring that the internal product needs and future market needs are met. Based on the defined roadmap, you'll create and execute a tactical plan for the core technology by cataloging and tracking all research and core technology. You are entrusted with engineering innovation and development work, while tracking technical progress and communicating the plan and progress to stakeholders. In tandem, you will promote a culture of technical excellence here at Dolby. Working with the engineering teams to deliver core technology capabilities, you'll use Agile methodology, and be adaptable to changes in the market or in the internal environment. Providing thought leadership for Dolby's core technologies is essential to this role. You'll be expected to drive cross-functional teams toward common goals by effectively navigating the organization, and using thought leadership to influence. Evangelizing the core technology, internally and externally, is an integral part of this role.
Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, other related technical field or equivalent experience
- MBA, or other business qualification is preferred
- 10+ years of experience with media technology is required
- Prior experience with Picture Quality and HDR is required
- Prior experience with Dolby Vision technology is a nice-to-have
- Strong technical background and someone who thinks at a system-level
- Has a consistent track record of innovation and creativity
- Demonstratable ability to influence and manage a diverse set of customers and internal stakeholders
- Collaborates effectively in a globally distributed organization
- Clarity of thought with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Speaks the language of technologists, business and product people
- Curious and up to date on relevant market developments

The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $201,800 - $246,500 which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
