Summary
The IT Business Systems Analyst role is focused on understanding the business and functional needs of the stakeholders prior to solutions being selected, procured, and implemented. The BSA will need strong analytical abilities and communication skills to work with, educate and advise other teams. As one of the key contacts between Information Technology (IT) and the business, this is a very visible role that requires strong partnership with the business groups, project team members and outside vendors. This position has no direct reports.
This position will primarily focus on Finance systems at Columbia Distributing. Support for other business areas may be needed.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Determining project requirements by extracting them from the business through interactions and research
  • Developing and aligning future state process and system roadmap
  • Analyzing the business processes in an organization or department for inefficiencies and inadequacies and making recommendations for improvements that can be attained using existing and/or new technology
  • Providing continuous communication of the practical implications of business decisions, issues and plans to business and project teams
  • Using analysis and modeling tools (Visio, Excel, etc.) and techniques to match strategic business objectives and practical technical solutions
  • Serving as the technical point-of-contact for supported systems and assist subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, support of report generation and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities
  • Proficient in Columbia Distributing's business processes and applications within an area of expertise (e.g., Financials, Operations, Sales)
  • Testing application software and coordinating resolution of issues
  • 1 week on-call rotation every 5 weeks, or as needed, to provide 24-hour support of the business

  • Technical owner for Finance systems
    • Microsoft Dynamics 365 - Finance and Operations
    • Anaplan - Budgeting and Planning
    • Medius - Invoice Capture, Accounts Payable Platform

  • Maintaining awareness of vendor plans and the potential impact of those plans on current system functionality

This job operates mostly indoors in an office setting.
Physical Demands
  • Lift/Carry and Push/Pull up to 20 lbs.

Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time salaried position and will require a flexible work schedule to successfully manage and deliver the accountabilities of the role.
Travel
Occasional travel is required with this position. Travel can and will be conducted between Kent and Wilsonville locations as needed. Additional travel may be required to any warehouse location during project implementations or as needed
Required Education and Experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working as a systems analyst, process analyst, or Business Analyst; or relevant Columbia Distributing experience as a super-user in targeted area of responsibility. Experience with Finance systems preferred.
  • Related 4-year college degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other project management experience
  • Experience with distribution and/or logistics systems

Compensation
  • Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.

Employees are also eligible for 80 hours of vacation every year and 7-8 days of paid holidays throughout the calendar year (depending on location).
