The IT Asset Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring efficient and effective management of the organization's IT assets. This role is responsible for overseeing the IT Asset Management (ITAM) program, defining guidelines for asset use in collaboration with Information Security, and managing the entire lifecycle of IT assets. The IT Asset Manager works closely with cross-functional teams, maintains accurate asset records, and identifies opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee IT Asset Management Program and take charge of the ITAM program, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures related to IT asset management.
- Collaborate with Tech teams to establish guidelines for the use of IT assets, ensuring alignment with security protocols and industry best practices.
- Continuously monitor the usage of IT assets within the organization and provide regular reports to leadership.
- Work closely with technical and non-technical departments to ensure that IT assets are utilized efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain a comprehensive database/system of record for all assets, including software and hardware. Ensure that asset records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Lead the design and execution of standards and operational processes for configuration management, including the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Build and expand configuration information to support IT Service Management and Information Security processes, such as incident, problem, change, release management, and risk management.
- Proactively identify opportunities for simplification, cost savings, risk reduction, and efficiency enhancement across the organization's technology and asset estate.
- Serve as the business owner of enterprise asset management solutions, actively contributing to the design and user experience for both IT and non-IT stakeholders.
- Lead contract negotiations with vendors and service providers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, warranties, and support.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to manage the procurement of new IT assets and the disposition of legacy assets. Establish controls and processes for maintaining an accurate asset inventory.
- Evaluate potential vendors and suppliers, considering factors such as cost, quality, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain relationships with IT vendors and suppliers to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.
- Evaluate industry solutions and trends to drive continuous improvement and automation in asset management activities.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices related to IT asset management and share knowledge with technical and non-technical teams.
- Maintain and manage the ITAM budget required to achieve established strategic objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
- Proven experience in IT asset management, configuration management, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of IT asset management best practices, industry standards, and relevant regulations.
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) and Information Security frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in asset management software and tools.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
Pay Range: $119,000-$140,000/yr
