IT Administrator Job Summary
We are looking for an IT Administrator to join our team and provide technical support to our employees. The IT Administrator will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues, managing our network infrastructure, and working with our external IT vendor to ensure our IT systems are up-to-date and working properly. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills and a thorough understanding of information technology, including hardware, software, and networking.
IT Administrator Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain an in-office presence to provide timely IT support. RMA’s office hours are from 8:30am – 5:30pm, Monday through Friday.
- Communicate regularly with our third-party IT vendor (Ntiva) to address IT-related matters and to resolve technical issues.
- Monitor network performance and maintain network security.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues reported by users.
- Manage user accounts, access rights, and security settings.
- Ensure the availability of network resources and services.
- Install and configure network hardware, such as routers and switches.
- Monitor system performance and security logs.
- Train users on new hardware and software.
- Research and recommend new IT technologies and solutions.
- Work with vendors to resolve technical issues.
IT Administrator Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum education required: Associate’s Degree in computer science or related field.
- Preferred education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Required minimum experience: 1-3 years of experience working in IT.
- Proficient in Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.
- Knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with network hardware, such as routers and switches.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit.
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
- Continually required to talk or hear.
- Continually required to utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
- Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 25 pounds.
