The Inventory Assistant role encompasses five areas of inventory management to varying degrees:
Material Management: Ensure efficient delivery of material to keep operations running smoothing on the factory floor
Quality Control: Check all material received to ensure it meets specifications, quality levels, and quantity
Storage: Assist in physically unloading and loading inventory pallets and placing items in their proper place
Kitting: Prepare kits of material for stations under your control
Planning: Identifying the needs of the floor based on the production schedule and taking appropriate steps to have material available
Requirements:- Detail oriented – Inventory Assistants are in charge of managing large amounts of stock, which requires a detail-oriented personality
- Mathematics skills – Inventory Assistants have to be good with numbers and figures because they compare prices, count stock, and do other calculations on a regular basis
- Computer literacy – The role requires the ability to use spreadsheets and other in house software programs
- Communication – Inventory Assistants are frequently required to speak with other employees, which requires good customer service skills
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift/carry/pull or push up to 50 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist throughout the shift
- Intermittent use of hand tools
