International Admissions Counselor

Canisius University is seeking a dynamic and motivated International Admissions Counselor to join our Admissions team. The International Admissions Counselor will play a crucial role in recruiting and assisting international students through the admissions process, providing guidance, support, and information to prospective students and their families. This position requires a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by international students seeking to pursue their education in the United States.
Essential Functions:
- Act as the primary point of contact for international students throughout the admissions process, responding to inquiries and providing accurate information about Canisius University's programs, admission requirements, and application procedures.
- Collaborate with international recruitment partners, high schools, and educational agencies to promote Canisius University's programs and opportunities.
- Assists with International Admissions application processing (undergraduate and graduate), including outreach, document review, credential evaluation, and application completion.
- Assist students in obtaining and submitting necessary documentation, such as transcripts, test scores, and financial statements.
- Conduct informational sessions, webinars, and presentations to educate prospective international students about the university's offerings and the benefits of studying at Canisius.
- Travel internationally to represent Canisius University at recruitment events, college fairs, and conferences, fostering relationships with prospective students and partners.
- Stay informed about changes in immigration policies and regulations affecting international students.
- Collaborate with the admissions team to develop and implement strategies for increasing international student enrollment.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in international education, higher education administration, or a related field.
- Experience working in International Admissions, student recruitment, or a closely related role within higher education.
- Experience with Slate CRM or other CRM system.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. higher education systems, international education trends, and cultural diversity.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Proficiency in using technology for presentations, communication, and data management.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed and work some evenings and weekends.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for international students.
- Valid U.S. Passport

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $55,341.00 annually
Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate of the base pay for this position. The selected candidate's actual base pay will be based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including experience. Information about the total compensation package for this position will be provided during the interview process.
This is a full-time position. Benefits are available the first of the month after the full-time employee's date of hire and include - health, dental and vision insurance, life and long-term disability insurance, and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time employees with contribution from the University after one year. Paid holidays, vacation, personal leave and sick leave. Tuition benefits are also available for full-time employees and their qualified dependents.
