Admissions Counselor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree, Masters preferred with experience in the area of college admissions/post-secondary education. The ideal candidate will have experience with Ellucian Banner and CRM Recruit.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Part-time Admission Counselor will assist with the coordination of group visits, conduct informational meetings with prospective students, develop a working knowledge of the College’s 80+ academic program options and assist professional staff in application review, rendering admission decisions and local recruitment travel. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel within a 75-mile radius of HVCC.
Nature and Scope of Duties: The Admissions Counselor will exercise judgement while working independently and as part of a team in conducting all related business of the Admissions Office. The part-time Admissions Counselor will report to the Director of Admissions and performs the following duties:
1. Develop a working knowledge of all academic programs at HVCC and the required pre-requisites for the entry into each program.
2. Assist the Admissions Office with on-campus admission events.
3. Conducts Admissions informational meetings for prospective students and families
4. Assist the staff in the review and rendering of decisions on admission applications
5. Develop a working knowledge of BANNER and CRM Recruit to update data and record decisions
6. Assist the staff in recruitment travel when needed
7. Other related duties as assigned
8. Perform other related duties as assigned.
This is a part-time non-benefited position with an hourly rate of $32.00.
