What you'll do
The Service and Data Protection team is responsible for providing solutions for secret and key management and cryptographic services. The team develops critical back-end services that serve thousands of transactions per second with millisecond response times that are critical to the business's operation. We are tackling the challenge of building a hybrid cloud approach to our in-house security story, while ensuring that the needs of our internal and external customers are met. This role will partner with Engineering Teams across the company as we embark on new cloud solutions to execute against the company's Agreement Cloud vision.
This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Manager, Software Engineering.

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

California: $165,800.00 - $265,625.00 base salary
Illinois and Colorado: $157,900.00 - $223,075.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.

What you'll do

Responsibility
- Write high quality code in C# .Net and other object-oriented languages that is easy to maintain and test
- Participate in an agile environment using Scrum software development practices, automated unit testing, continuous integration, code reviews, version control systems and automated build processes
- Research new features and technologies, especially in the public cloud, encryption, and HSM space
- Raise issues proactively that might impact delivery commitments
- Fix production issues and maintain the code as needed
- Solve software problems at scale and build fault tolerant systems
- Articulate clear engineering strategies, plans, goals and objectives across multiple domains, projects, and teams
- Lead troubleshooting and remediation quickly during high severity incidents
- Be responsible for sharing and adoption of best practices for performance and availability for one or more functional areas
- Contribute to and drive a culture of building scalable and highly available systems
- Identify, propose, and implement process improvements to continuously increase the team's productivity and efficiency
- Stay current with the latest development best practices and share your findings with the team
- Work as part of a cross-site development team to drive design, implementation, testing and release of products

What you bring
Basic
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
- 12+ years industry experience in Software Engineering
- Experience in Full Stack with C#, C++, or other object-oriented programming language
- Expereince with Azure (Key Vault, Managed HSM, AKS, ADO) or any similar cloud experience
- Expereince with CosmosDB, Azure Blob, JET DB, SQL Server or any similar database
- Experience with ADO, Terraform, GitHub
- Experience with applied cryptography, key management solutions, HSMs or Microservices
Preferred
- Experience with distributed systems
- Experience with authentication and authorization systems
- Experience building large-scale, highly available, fault-tolerant, reliable applications
- Experience with design and operation of large-scale cloud services
- Experience with the entire software development lifecycle, including version control, build process, testing, and code release
- Ability and desire to move across technology stacks fluently and easily
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
