The Admissions Counselor will recruit and advise prospective undergraduate students to Elmira College. This position includes extensive recruitment travel and the ability to interview prospective students, conduct presentations, and review and process applications for students from a specific geographic territory. The Admissions Counselor maintains responsibility for geographic territory, including oversight of inquiry and applicant statistics and cultivating relationships with students, parents, school counselors, faculty, staff, and alumni. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills are necessary for success in this role. This position requires occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.
Essential Functions

- Participate in on-campus and regional college events
- Ability to conduct oral presentations about Elmira College to a variety of constituents, including prospective students and parents, school counselors, and college personnel.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Valid driver’s license
- Individualized travel at least 8-10 weeks per year, and ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours.

- Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; sitting for extended periods of time; to occasionally bend, kneel, reach, and twist; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard. Occasional travel on Campus and through buildings which require walking, climbing stairs and exposure to outside weather. This position requires extensive individual recruitment travel and occasional evening and weekend hours.
