FOOD RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT INTERN | JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
At Magnolia, internships serve as opportunities for students and new professionals to gain experience in various fields by contributing their skills and expertise toward achieving organizational goals. Interns will be assigned to one department for the duration of the semester, and specific projects or tasks will be determined per departmental need. Interns work from various Magnolia locations in Waco, Texas. The Food Research & Development Intern reports to the Research & Development Kitchen Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Uphold Magnolia's manifesto and values
- Assist in preparing and testing new and existing recipes for tastings
- Attend and contribute toward food-related creative events
- Shop for groceries and tools needed for food preparation and styling
- Complete projects or tasks as instructed by internship supervisor
- Participate in internship group development and service opportunities throughout semester
- Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders to determine the priority and process of assignments
- Ensure that projects are on track for correct execution within requireddeadlines
- Hold all sensitive information with the strictestconfidence
- Communicate effectively across multiple teams to ensure a cohesive goal isachievable
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Soft skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Education: Degree from a secondary institution or current enrollment in degree program required
- Experience: Must be a college junior or senior, graduate student, or recent graduate (up to two years post grad)
- General availability: Must be available to work 15-25 hours weekly for the duration of the internship program
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell.The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
