SUMMARY
Performs the ASI Standards (ASI) Development Technician. Support QC manager quality control
activities as required.
Key Areas of Responsibility (KAR)
- Develop new calibration standards for the petroleum industry.
- New product formulation document maintenance
- Perform new product testing, instrument maintenance and related tasks as required
- Works with laboratory director as needed
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop new products for that relates to ASI Standards’ business.
- Prepares, transfers and archives (as required) various documentation related to ASI product
development materials (stock solutions, matrices, etc.) and final products. Documentation
activities include, but are not limited to the following:
Accurate record keeping of data needed for Calculation / Blend Sheets
Rework tracking sheets
- Works with senior chemist for the plan to develop of new products
- Test and analyze development products
- Follows explicit instructions to prepare various new product materials to meet needs of
product development specifications. Product development activities include:
Gravimetric Formulation (Wt. /Wt.)
Volumetric Formulation (Vol. /Vol.)
Wt. / Vol. formulation
- Customize the formulations to test different reactions
- Refine products to improve their quality
- Maintain laboratory equipment and report on malfunctions
- Completes ongoing training for continued personal and professional development
Manufacturing lab standard operating procedures
Safety Policy and Procedures
Feasibility and stability study standard operating procedures
Product Development Observation and Document Control
Others as required by supervisor
OTHER DUTIES
- Assist daily order process activities as available and appropriate – To be determined by
Production & Quality Control Manager
- Assist Project Management activities as available and appropriate
- Performs end-of-day and other routine housekeeping duties
- Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the
production team.

The development chemist reports to the R&D manager.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree (Chemistry, Science or related discipline is preferred)
Mainly organic & analytical chemistry experience is preferred.
Excellent analytical and research skills.
Hands-on experience with ICP-OES and XRF methods.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
