Your Opportunity
The primary role of the IA / ID Intern will be to work with the Interiors team across multiple sectors and various project related tasks through mentorship from Designers and Architects. Our Interiors Team works collaboratively with architecture and engineering to conceptualize, develop, and document varying aspects of a project, including but not limited to programming, schematic design, space planning, analyzing the human environment, interior architecture, interior materials and palette, specifications and furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Work on integrated architecture and engineering project design teams.
- Use 2D and 3D software to create architectural drawings, renderings, and design assignments.
- Document changes to interior drawings as instructed.
- Consult with manufacturers; research and evaluate materials.
- Participate in design meetings.
- Receive mentorship from experienced design professionals.
- Visit a construction site(s) and/or completed project sites.
- Order architecture/interior samples.
- Prepare presentation and finish boards.
- Prepare transmittals and packages.
- File and maintain product samples and literature.
- Assist in project filing and archiving.
- Coordinate and attend luncheon product presentations.
- Compose new product displays.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Experience in Construction Documentation using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel, Adobe Illustrator/InDesign
- Some knowledge of project design and construction documentation and materials.
- Ability to work on multiple, fast-paced projects and documents.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Portfolio submission required to demonstrate skill set.
Education and Experience
Candidate must be a current 2nd or 3rd year college student majoring in Interior Architecture / Interior Design. CIDA accredited program is preferred.
