Interior Designer

PEMCO, an established provider of furniture for the K-12 and higher education markets located in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh is seeking an Interior Designer who is creative & detailed oriented.

We are looking for a highly motivated applicant who can multi-task and work independently on projects from the conceptual design to the final delivery phase.

Duties would include working with a small sales team to develop client specifications, working with local dealer representatives as well as national factories direct, keeping fabrics/finishes updated when necessary, occasionally meeting with clients in person for pre-order fabric/finish selections.

Full Time Position: Flexible work environment with part time in office three days a week required.

Our Ideal Candidate will…

• Have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, or a related field.
• Have proficiency with 2020 commercial software and or CET.
• Be highly process-oriented, organized, and independent.
• Value efficiency and accuracy.
• Be familiar with International Building Codes and ADA requirements.
• Be able to solve complex space planning requirements.
• Develop design drawings and specifications for Educational and Commercial environments.
• Lead and manage the project design, from start to finish.
• Work independently to help manage sales team, clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors.

• Involvement in all project phases, often working as part of a project team
• Design and development of presentation materials
• Client-facing engagement
• FF&E selection and specification
• Work with vendors for materials and obtaining resources.
• Manage and organize Design library and materials
