Intake Coordinator
About the role:
The Intake Coordinator supports new and potential patients looking for psychiatric or behavioral health care. You are often the first person the patient meets on their journey with MHS, and we want this experience to be positive and helpful for our patient. Patients contact us through inbound and outbound calls, chat, our online portal, SMS, and faxes.
This is a remote position with some potential need for in office training and support.
Responsibilities
- Stay available and answer calls in queue. Respond to live calls, email inquiries, online chat, SMS, and faxes.
- Create supportive patient experiences; match each patient’s individual needs with a mental healthcare provider from our practice that best supports them.
- Work with multiple variables and across tools to identify best solutions for each patient.
- Ensures all necessary patient documentation is completed and attached to the patient chart appropriately.
- Work in an environment of continuous improvement and feedback and strive to always meet company KPIs
- Communicate effectively in writing or by phone with team members to coordinate care.
- Work out of Nextgen EHR system with detailed and appropriate intake documentation, patient leads and schedule utilization.
- Sometimes contact insurance companies to review or conduct and complete benefit investigations as needed.
Qualifications
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills. Ability to listen with empathy and connect with patients. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required) or equivalent years of relevant experience in health care, sales, or business development.
- Comfort within mental health and behavioral health landscape and ability to understand necessary requirements within this space for to generate client acquisition.
- Computer Skills experience Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or medial record systems a plus
- Excellent written, verbal and follow up skills required.
- Ability to multi-task with high degree of attention to detail and bring tasks to completion.
- Maintain a professional presence in interactions with patients, peers, and other stakeholders.
- Punctual, reliable, and flexible with your schedule, to accommodate the needs of the company. Current hours of operation are 7am-6pm M-F. or as needed by the business.
