10+ Maricopa Affinity Resource Employee Groups (Celebrates diversity, embraces inclusion, and supports employees, students, and community!) Job Summary Identify students who are academically at-risk for failing or withdrawing from their mathematics course using Dropout Detective, instructor and staff referrals, and other analytics and create a path for students to successfully complete their math course. Refer students to college resources that would assist them in persistence and academic success. Work with the math department, Learning Enhancement Center, Foundations for Student Success, and other college resources to improve math retention and pass rates.

Essential Functions 30% - Uses Dropout Detective, faculty referrals, and other tools to identify students at-risk for failing or withdrawing from their mathematics course. Establishes and maintains records pertaining to students at-risk in their math course, weekly student contact, referrals given to students, and follow-up inquiries on students. 30% - Contacts students via email, telephone, or in person to encourage success in their mathematics courses.

Sets up catch-up plans for students who are behind in their assignments or who need to improve their grades. Refers students to college resources to improve retention and completion of mathematics courses. 20% - Works collaboratively with math faculty, Learning Enhancement Center, Foundations for Student Success, and other college resources to assist all students, but especially "at-risk" students.

Attends weekly meetings with math faculty and/or department chair. Serves students in person at the Southern and Dobson and the Red Mountain campuses. Serves students virtually as needed.

10% - Collects, organizes, and disseminates various data (daily, weekly, monthly and semesterly). 10% - Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and one full-time equivalent year of advanced program support involving program coordination, preferably in an educational setting.

OR High School Diploma/GED and three full-time equivalent years of advanced program support involving program coordination, preferably in an educational setting. Desired Qualifications A. Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university, preferably in mathematics, math education, or a related field B.

Experience with student tutoring in mathematics, academic advisement, and/or programs in student success C. Experience with student success analytic tools and/or Canvas learning management system D. Evidence of experience working with students from underrepresented/underserved backgrounds and cultures E.

Experience using spreadsheets and creating data visualizations to illustrate data sets related to math retention efforts and student outcomes F. Experience working in a higher education environment Special Working Conditions May be required to work evenings and weekends; will be required to work at multiple sites or locations (Red Mountain, Southern & Dobson campuses). If hired into a full-time short-term position and not continuing in a full-time benefits-eligible position at the conclusion of the assignment, then there will be a 6 month waiting period before being eligible to work in a part-time non-benefited position at the Maricopa Community Colleges.
