POSITION DETAILS
POSITION: Early Childhood Instructional Coach
REPORTS TO: Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
● CERTIFICATION:
○ Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
○ North Carolina Early Childhood Administration Credential or its equivalent
○ North Carolina Early Childhood Credential or its equivalent
● EXPERIENCE:
○ Must be 21 years of age
○ 2 or more years experience in a leadership, mentoring or coaching role with staff,
preschool children and with families from low income and culturally diverse
backgrounds
● SKILLS/ABILITIES:
The candidate has demonstrated an ability to:
○ effectively communicate with supervisors, peers, teachers, students, and families
○ effectively collaborate with all school stakeholders
○ model desired behavior among staff and students
○ be highly organized with demonstrated ability to meet reporting deadlines
○ maintain confidentiality of documents and conversations
○ Be a self-starter and team player
● Pass a pre-employment background and fingerprinting, physical, initial drug screening,
have a negative TB skin test (or chest x-ray if necessary) and provide required
documentation of the NCDCDEE.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
● Operations
○ Helps to ensure the supervision, safety and well-being of children and classroom
teaching staff daily.
○ Report or address any maintenance items that need attention.
JOB DETAILS
Assists the Director in leading instruction at SPARK Academy in areas relative to:
● Conducting training, conferences, courses, and other aspects of personal growth.
● Monitor and ensure implementation of a developmentally and linguistically appropriate
approach to child development and education.
● Facilitates and coordinates meetings and trainings
● Works with staff to create an intentional and systematic process to gather and record
information that is guided by the action plan and focused on the staff member’s goals.
● Use coaching strategies that support the staff member’s understanding and use of
specific teaching or practice and curriculum.
● Develops coaching agreements in partnership with staff that guide the scope and
structure, including expectations and roles that define the work within the context of a
culturally respectful, safe, and supportive environment.
● Identifies strengths and celebrates progress with staff.
● Demonstrated flexibility that builds on respectful interest in learning about diverse
cultures and languages of staff and the children and families they support to establish
mutually respectful and effective relationships.
● Create and maintain schedule for regular center staff trainings
● Assist classrooms with proper techniques with children and guidance with daily
classroom activities and lesson plans.
SALARY $38,000 - $43,000 per year
