Reports to: School Principal Works in collaboration with the School Principal & Ed Direction
Purpose: To assist the LEA and School Principal with the full implementation of the awarded Innovative Partnership Grant as well as providing daily site support to instructional staff.
Duration: The School Coordinator position will be in effect through the duration of the Innovative Partnership Grant Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years' experience in an educational capacity, which may include a combination of teaching, supervision, or other leadership roles.
2. Fully Certified / Highly Qualified teaching license
3. Experience with providing instructional support for beginning and lateral entry teachers as well as expertise in STEM knowledge is preferred.
4. Exceptionally strong organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required
5. Must be capable of establishing rapport and trust quickly with a variety of individuals within school, district, and community.
6. Exhibit in-depth knowledge of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and strong instructional pedagogy
7. Awareness of local, state, and federal policies that impact students and school improvement strategies
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the coordination and implementation of the awarded Innovative Partnership Grant.
2. Serve as a liaison, as needed, between the instructional staff, Principal, external partners, and Ed Direction.
3. Provide instructional and whole child learning support daily.
4. Maintains on-going and frequent assistance to classroom teachers in lesson planning, critical thinking and problem solving, STEM implementation, social emotional learning competencies and keeping up to date with the most innovative pedagogical approaches.
5. Assist with the Innovative Partnership Grant at to enhance the educational opportunities, motivation, and engagement of all students and staff.
6. Work collaboratively with the Principal and staff to fulfill the measurable goals and the local / state requirements of the Innovative Partnership Grant including the management of NCStar.
7. Plan for and assist the Principal with meetings with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), District Administrators, and school staff as appropriate
8. Observe classrooms upon request and provide feedback related to instructional practices 9. Model lessons, co-teach, and provide job-embedded professional development based upon individual teacher and school needs
10. Assist instructional staff, school leadership and district leadership with disaggregation of data and data driven decision making
11. Provide regular updates to NCDPI, as requested, related to progress of the school and goals as related to identified data points
12. Attend / represent instructional staff at NCDPI meetings which focus on Innovative Partnership Grant implementation
13. Monitor daily school operations that are related to the Innovative Partnership Grant and be prepared to provide constant feedback on progress to LEA, Principal, and State Officials upon request.
14. Provide periodic professional development opportunities for __________________ staff 15. Other duties as assigned by the LEA or the Principal
Salary: NC administrative salary scale, which may include local supplement, and IPG Incentive Pay (if applicable).
Time & Effort: The Organization will employ a School Instructional Coordinator in each of its IPG awarded schools to assist the school leadership with implementation of the research-based school improvement strategies, 100% of the School Coordinator's time and services will be at the IPG awarded school. This assurance may be met by contracting with an external provider - 40 hours per week / 12 months.
