We are searching for an IGZO R&D Specialist. The IGZO R&D Specialist will be an expert in the field of Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) technology and will be responsible for leading the research and development efforts for IGZO technology at dpiX. This IGZO expert will be responsible for the design, development, and commercialization of IGZO products for flat panel displays and x-ray imaging applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop new IGZO-based products and processes for flat panel displays and x-ray imaging applications 20%
• Design, fabricate and test IGZO devices and materials 20%
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance the state-of-the-art in IGZO technology 20%
• Identify and evaluate new technologies and market trends to support the development of future products 20%
• Write technical reports, patent applications, and publications to disseminate research results 20%
• Other duties as assigned

Education:

Minimum Required:PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on IGZO technology

Minimum Experience:

• 5-10 years Strong background in device physics, semiconductor materials and process, and flat panel display technology And,
• 5-10 years Knowledge of process integration and optimization for large-scale IGZO TFT fabrication, including experience with deposition techniques, patterning methods, and device isolation techniques And,
• 5-10 years Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics, particularly in relation to thin-film transistors (TFTs) and amorphous oxide semiconductors, such as IGZO And,
• 5-10 years of experience in the design, fabrication, and characterization of IGZO TFTs and their integration into various device structures And,
• 5-10 years of experience with various characterization techniques, including electrical measurements, imaging and spectroscopy, and simulation tools for device modeling and optimization And,
• 5-10 years Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data and make sound technical decisions And,
• 5-10 years Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders And,
• 5-10 years Strong project management skills and experience leading R&D projects And,
• 5-10 years Strong team-working skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment And,
• 5-10 years of Experience managing R&D projects, and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in commercializing IGZO-based products
• 5-10 years of experience in x-ray imaging and/or flexible electronics
• 5-10 years Strong understanding of device physics and materials science of TFT and TFT arrays for flat panel display technology
• 5-10 years Strong understanding of industry trends and developments in the field of IGZO technology and ability to apply this knowledge to the development of new products and processes

Required Competencies Skills/Knowledge & Proficiency Level:

• Semiconductor device fabrication (lithography, deposition, etch, etc.) High
• Electrical test & characterization hardware (probe station, oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.) High
• Scripting (Python, Matlab, etc.) Medium
• Layout software for semiconductor design (Cadence, Mentor, Silvaco, etc.) Medium

Work Environment:

• Office 90%
• FAB – Clean Room/Lab 10%
• Travel 1% or less; occasional domestic and international

Work Schedule:

• Monday – Friday 40+ hours/week
• Additional hours as needed to achieve business objectives

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $135K- $210K, depending on experience
• Annual Bonus: 15%; eligible to participate in 2023 program; prorated 1st year based on date of hire
