The Intensive Care Unit Support Technician is a member of the Surgical Intensive Care Department/s health care team who assists clinical team members in the delivery of a single standard of care. Responsibilities will include ordering, receiving, inventorying, issuing and delivering medical and surgical supplies, equipment and procedure trays to all areas within the Surgical Intensive Care (ICU/SIC) utilizing automated and non-automated supply and distribution systems.
Selection Criteria:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
- Ability to follow written/oral communication.
- Basic computer literacy and office technology/functions preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory control processes.
- One year related experience in receiving and storing medical equipment.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.
- Ability to demonstrate literacy in using computerized information systems.
