This position involves the day-to-day implementation, management, and administration of the IBMi workloads. The IBMi Administrator will be responsible for system integrations/transitions, troubleshooting, security, and backups.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Administration of environment components including security controls, TCP/IP, BRMS, Job control, performance and capacity planning, system updates, and license management
- Monitors the status of all IBMi systems and modifies status jobs within the system, performing system backups and recovery
- Experience with IBMi design, creation, execution of custom CL scripts for automation as/where needed
- Perform platform-specific technical tasks including operating system upgrades, installation and configuration of various software packages, installation of patches and fixes (PTFs)
- Perform problem analysis, documentation, root-cause analysis, and create incident reports for complex system environments
- Maintains tape library and checks logs for accuracy.
- Perform maintenance, cataloging and filing of storage media.
- Maintain documentation of system and application monitoring, scheduling packages, and tape management systems
- Maintain IBMi disaster recovery site
- Maintain IBMi security at the program/user/system levels
- Maintain and develop security solutions, application systems, authentication, and directory services to ensure the security of confidential data

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Operating IBMi systems in a senior capacity: 5 years (Preferred)
- 5+ years of relevant experience in IBM i administration, including experience with troubleshooting and maintenance of environments running the IBMi operating systems on power-based hardware
- Understating of TCP/IP connections
- Experience with hardware management console and LPAR configuration
- Experience with replication software (QEDD)
- Experience with virus projection tools and strategies
- Experience with software updates and patch management
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast passed, dynamic environment
- Effective communication, writing, and presentation skills desired
- Ability to participate in after-hours escalations and 24x7 on call as needed
