Job description

The California Film Commission (CFC) is a state program within the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), tasked with retaining and increasing motion picture production, creating industry jobs and boosting business throughout the state. The CFC issues film permits for all state-owned and operated properties, administers the Film and TV Tax Credit Program, maintains an extensive location library, offers production assistance on a wide variety of issues and works closely with cities and counties to create "film-friendly" policies statewide. The CFC's staff includes dedicated civil service employees and senior staff with extensive film production experience.
The Management Services Technician (MST) performs less technical, semiprofessional tasks. The MST will regularly perform a variety of routine work in data-entry duties in relation to program support, program data analysis and maintenance, program data processing, and customer service. The position will require detailed and accurate handling of sensitive confidential correspondences along with a proficient knowledge of computer programs and applications, regulations, policies, and procedures. The MST will research, gather, and analyze information for use in reporting, therefore attention to detail and the ability to work independently and effectively are of primary importance.

Hybrid: This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule and requires reporting in-person to the Hollywood, CA headquarters, 2 times a week. #li-hybrid

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) Instructions:
The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be typed in Arial 12-point font using standard margins and no more than two pages. A resume or cover letter does not substitute for the SOQ. Incomplete applications, missing resumes, and/or without the SOQ or those that do not address what is being requested may not be considered. The SOQ must address the following in numberical order; do not consolidate responses. 1. Describe your experience with customer service in a professional setting that requires discretion on sensitive issues.
2. Describe your research skills and the types of research you've conducted for current or previous employers and/or in an academic setting.
3. Describe the tasks you performed while employed in a government agency or experience in the motion picture production industry, if applicable.
