The Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) Manager will be responsible for coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the Triple P project. The Triple P Program works to reduce child maltreatment, out of home placements, and behavioral problems in children and adolescence. Work will include leadership of an interdisciplinary implementation team and collaboration across community agencies at the local and state levels.
Acts as the designated lead coordinator, who provides primary leadership for the Triple P project across the service area (18 counties), and will also support or cover the functions of: training, coaching of the trained practitioners, media and advocacy, outreach, and data collection and evaluation. This position has the responsibility of implementing and supporting the Triple P project in the designated counties. This position is required to travel throughout the region and is a hands-on role in ensuring fidelity of the Triple P Program by practitioners. The employee reports to the Administrative Officer III and the Division of Child and Family Well-Being, Whole Child Section.
Examples of Duties
Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Interface with the Intermediary Organization (IO) support system (The Impact Center at FPG UNC-CH, Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina, Triple P America, NC DPH Children and Youth Branch) to assure model infidelity, good implementation practices, and a strong local infrastructure.
- Responsible for the development and execution of a quarterly and annual implementation plan that includes establishing and maintaining a coalition, leadership team, and implementation team that represents the service area.
- Plan and facilitate quarterly Triple P Implementation Team meetings.
- Provide peer support facilitation and coaching to trained practitioners.
- Participate in the NC Triple P Learning Collaborative (NCLC).
- Ensure the collection of data evaluating the impact of selected Triple P strategies.
- Create and maintain a practitioner/child service agency support plan, including the use of parent support material, refresher and attrition training, PASS, Triple P integration into the child-serving agency, and practitioner service delivery plan.
- Recruit, orient, and train Triple P coordinators specialized in training-outreach and data evaluation-media advocacy.
- Supervise two (2) Triple P coordinator positions.
Employee is subject to be called upon anytime to help the agency respond to a public health emergency which may include, but is not limited to, outbreak investigations, staffing mass dispensing or immunization clinics, providing disaster relief, or other incidents (man-made or natural and intentional or non-intentional) as they arise, or any public health response requested by the Health Director.
Minimum Qualifications
A master's degree in public or Human Services administration or a Human Services programmatic fields preferably with course work in Human Services planning and one year of experience in human service program planning or administration; or graduation from a four-year college or university and three years of administrative or consultative experience in a human service program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited universities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to supervise two coordinators across an 18-county region.
- Considerable knowledge of methods and techniques of disseminating health education information to the public and to the media.
- Ability to work well with people of different educational and socioeconomic backgrounds and to speak effectively before various groups.
- Ability to establish a good working relationship with individuals and community groups.
- Ability to organize and direct the activities of local committees for the development of local public health education programs.
- Considerable knowledge of community health education resources.
- Considerable knowledge in program planning, program implementation and evaluation.
- Thorough knowledge of community organizations.
