Your Role:

As a Metrology Engineerat our plant facility, you will be responsible for the precise measurement, analysis, and interpretation of various components and processes within the manufacturing environment. This role involves utilizing cutting-edge metrology tools, software, and techniques to validate and optimize our production processes. The Engineer will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing essential insights to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize knowledge of measurement theory and international standards to operate CMM, laser trackers, portable measurement equipment, and other precision instruments.
  • Develop and execute measurement routines for CMM, Leica tracker, Calipri, etc., ensuring accurate and repeatable results.
  • Conduct calibration and control processes for precision equipment, including hand-held and electronic measurement devices.
  • Interpret and analyze measurement data, formulate conclusions, and develop comprehensive reports for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align measurement data with manufacturing processes, identifying and resolving issues using data-driven problem-solving techniques.
  • Develop measurement points in CAD models and create measurement run charts, glidepaths, and special reports for clear communication with non-Metrology personnel.
  • Create technical customer reports in an easily understandable format for individuals without a technical background.
  • Identify operating problems, assess solutions, and report findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Operate and maintain specialized scientific measurement equipment such as Coordinate Measurement Machine (Zeiss), Leica Laser Tracker, and Faro Portable Measurement system.
  • Continuously improve measurement processes, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate measurement solutions into product development processes.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior metrology staff members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, in a relevant related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical work experience in the science of metrology, with a focus on automotive or aerospace applications.
  • Proficiency in metrology software, including Catia, PolyWorks, CM4D, Pie Web, and Zeiss.
  • Strong expertise in measurement techniques, including scanning, measurement set-ups, alignments (best fit and datum), and data interpretation.
  • Experienced with measurement processes and has proven expertise with industry best practices.
  • Possess knowledge of international standards.
  • Experience with a variety of precision measurement instruments, including CMMs, laser trackers, calipers, and force gauges.
  • Ability to navigate complex technical data and translate findings into easily understandable reports for non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on precision and accuracy in measurements.
  • Proven ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot scientific measurement equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on automotive or aerospace applications strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Annual Salary Range:

($75K - $91K DOE), plus benefits and incentive plans
