Job Summary
*This position will have the option of teleworking; however, it will be based on the business needs of the unit and is at supervisory discretion. We are currently in a Hybrid work environment.
To provide technical personnel support to the Human Resources Management Division staff and Department of Public Safety managers, supervisors, and employees. This includes processing personnel transactions in the State's personnel/payroll systems (SEMA4), processing and entering background checks and providing support and assistance to HR staff and customers on personnel issues and processing.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Two yearsof paraprofessional experience in Human Resources that includes the following:
- Working knowledge of a personnel tracking software sufficientto maintain, enter and track personnel transactions through PeopleSoft or similar HR information systems (e.g., employee hires, salary increases, separations, etc.)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products with the ability to research, run reports, and analyze data.
- Analytical skills sufficient to review data and identify and correct errors.
- Math skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate percentages and use simple formulas.
- Customer service experience sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to customers over the phone or through written correspondence with tact and diplomacy in a timely manner.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently by handling, prioritizing, and completing a variety and significant volume of HR data correctly and timely.
- Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
An associatedegree in Human Resources may substitute for six (6) months of experience; a bachelor's degree in Human Resources may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using SEMA4.
- Working knowledge and experience with various collective bargaining agreements or plans, rules, and laws (i.e., Affirmative Action and Data Practices); policies and procedures that affect Human Resources.
- Experience working with HRIS systems such as PeopleSoft and/or Web Based tracking systems.
- Experience using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) reporting.
- Variety of experience working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and address problems with confidentiality, diplomacy, and integrity.
Physical Requirements
Light: Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from othersand moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
