Human Resource Generalist

Essential Functions:
Under general supervisory guidance, administers select Human Resources programs, policies, procedures and systems.
Responsible for completing special projects and assignments. Provides support to the Human Resource Manager and the location Plant Manager(s).
Specific Responsibilities Include:
1. Assists in the administration of facility payroll in ADP system for hourly and salary workforce. Maintains all time records and hours of work according to payroll standards.
2. Facilitates all aspects of internal and external recruitment and selection processes. Places external advertisements and internal postings, attends career fairs, coordinates interview schedules and candidate travel arrangements.
Coordinates administration of various pre-placement screening processes.
3. Coordinates, updates, and delivers the new hire on-boarding process.
4. Coordinates benefit administration with health and welfare carriers, including oversight of the open enrollment process.
5. Assists in the oversight of the performance appraisal process.
6. Tracks various KPI’s, including headcount, overtime, absenteeism, sick leave/FMLA, and turnover. Generates monthly reports and posts to the balanced scorecard (BSC).
8. Tracks vacation accruals and creates monthly reports.
9. Assumes responsibility for completion of special projects related to Human Resources.
10. Maintains up-to-date employee rosters, headcount reports, leave of absence reports, etc.
11. Manages all employee personnel files and files all related departmental documents.
12. Prepares letters, memos, reports, notices, etc. as required for facilities. Posts company communications.
13. Provides administrative support for coordinating and attending various plant meetings.
14. Participates in union meetings, assists in addressing grievances.
15. Ensures that quality and confidentiality standards for the department are adhered to and maintained.
16. Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business/Human Resources or related field. Program certification in Human Resources highly desired.
Experience and Background:
Minimum 3 years related experience. Must be knowledgeable of federal and state HR laws and regulations. Requires experience in the following areas: benefits administration, administration of policies and procedures, employee relations and communications, recruitment and selection, and compensation. Requires demonstrated skills using various computer software programs and applications (MS Word, Excel, Power Point,) ADP experience preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills. Able to perform multiple tasks and assignments. Ability to establish credibility and be action oriented. Must be able to handle information with confidentiality.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
