The Challenge (Job Summary)
As a Maintenance Generalist, you have the opportunity to live our core values every day by helping our patients in all walks of life, providing high quality care, working with an excellent team, being a trusted resource for our patients and team members, and having an impact in the community through our engagement and volunteer efforts. In addition, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall and general maintenance of the facility and grounds. This includes construction projects, painting, and general maintenance.
Your Day to Day & Essential Functions:
  • You are required to comply with all HIPAA and OSHA regulations and policies.
  • Responsible for routine maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure preventative maintenance schedule, including servicing equipment at regular intervals and replacing defective parts, as well as working with the Director of Buildings and Grounds to coordinates contractor's work.
  • Coordinate electrical and other inspections with utility companies, insurance companies and other agencies, and ensure your buildings follow all federal, state, and local regulations and codes.
  • Examine, test, isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other equipment, including but not limited to replacing defective items to ensure safe operations.
  • Dismantle equipment with hand tools and replaces defective mechanical parts such as gears, bearings and electrical parts such as armatures and transformers.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Buildings and Grounds, as well as contractors on new construction/remodeling projects. You will read blueprints and diagrams and develop specifications., as well as coordinating project efforts.
  • Maintain records, reports, and files as required for your buildings
  • Alert the Director of Building and Grounds of any unsafe conditions and provides recommendations related to equipment acquisitions.
  • Mount cabinets, build shelving, paint and stain, repair floors, and minor plumbing repair as needed. This also includes making minor repairs to furniture.
  • May be required to travel to other administrative offices and physician offices, in which case, mileage will be paid
  • May be required to come in if there is an emergency
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed (Competencies, Education):
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance concepts, plumbing and electrical wiring.
  • Knowledge of standard safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and vendors.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • General computer skills to include Microsoft office programs, energy management building systems and intellimeter management systems.
  • Skill in using various hand tools.
  • Skill in manual and finger dexterity.
  • Skill in making spatial measurements.
  • Skill in reading blueprints and diagrams.
  • Ability to lift up 75 lbs repeatedly

Working Conditions, Physical & Mental Demands: On-site work area environment inside and outside, and there is frequent exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards. Occasional evening or weekend work. Works in conditions of heat, cold, wetness, dust, rain, snow. Physically, the ideal candidate will be able to work in conditios of prolonged walking or standing, repeated stooping, squatting, stretching, climbing of ladders. Requires eye-hand coordination in utilizing equipment and tools. Frequent lifting and carrying materials up to 50 pounds
