We are seeking an experienced and skilled HR Generalist with a strong background in Employee Relations to join our dynamic HR team. As an HR Generalist you will be responsible for managing employee relations matters, promoting a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. This role involves handling employee issues, conflicts, and grievances while fostering a culture of open communication and collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of employment laws, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide sound guidance to both employees and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Conflict Resolution: Act as a mediator in resolving conflicts and grievances between employees, encouraging open communication and fair resolution to maintain a positive work atmosphere.
- Performance Management:Collaborate with managers to address performance-related issues, providing guidance on performance improvement plans and assisting in disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Policy Development and Implementation: Stay up-to-date with employment laws and regulations to develop, update, and communicate HR policies, ensuring compliance and fairness across the organization.
- Employee Counseling: Offer confidential guidance to employees on work-related concerns, career development, and personal matters that may impact their job performance.
- Conduct Investigations: Investigate complaints, misconduct, and alleged policy violations in a thorough and impartial manner, maintaining confidentiality and providing recommendations for appropriate actions
- Training and Development: Develop and conduct training sessions on employee relations topics, including conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, and effective communication.
- Exit Interviews: Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback from departing employees, identify patterns or issues, and recommend improvements to enhance retention and employee satisfaction.
- Employee Engagement: Collaborate with HR and Talent Acquisition team members to design and implement initiatives that boost employee morale, loyalty, and overall engagement.
- Labor Relations: Assist in handling labor-related matters, including negotiations, grievance procedures, and contract interpretation.
- HR Compliance: Monitor HR practices to ensure adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
- Employee Data Management: Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with data privacy laws and regulations.
- HR Policy Development: Contribute to the creation and updating of HR policies and procedures to align with changing laws and best practices.
- HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, including EEOC, ADA, FMLA, and other relevant laws.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist, with a strong focus on employee relations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR Policies and Procedures, employment laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in handling employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and conducting investigations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a solution-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite.
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach to work, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
Hybrid Schedule consists of working onsite 3 days/week. Must travel to Aurora and Chicago locations.
