Job Description
SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist II supports the operations of the Human Resources (HR) department in a variety of areas. This includes, but is not limited to, payroll processing, recruitment, screening and interviewing applicants, internal and external HR service requests, data entry, event and project support, and other administrative tasks as directed by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Payroll Processing, in collaboration with Finance department staff
- Responsible for processing payroll on ADP, including ongoing maintenance of ADP database, entering payroll changes, deductions, garnishments, manual checks, accruals, and other payroll tasks.
- Responsible for distribution of manual checks, payroll forms and notices, tax documents, salary change letters, etc.
- Responsible for payroll related reporting, downloading payroll documents for each payroll, and other maintenance tasks related to payroll.
- Responsible for providing excellent customer service to managers and all employees for payroll and accrual questions, resolving issues, making adjustments and corrections, etc.
- Recruiting and Hiring, in collaboration with the HR team
- Responsible for sourcing and recruiting applicants by finding and expanding new sources of applicants and strengthening Esperanza’s networks locally and nationally.
- Responsible for recruiting at job fairs, trade schools, colleges, churches, Christian organizations, etc.
- Responsible for all aspect of the hiring cycle for open positions assigned by HR Director, including working with department managers to schedule and conduct interviews and other aspects of the cycle through the hire letter.
- Responsible to collaborate with the HR team on orientation and onboarding new hires, as directed by supervisor. Event and Project Support
3.Event and Project Support
- Responsible for planning and implementing retreats, all staff training, staff appreciation events, etc. in collaboration with HR Team, managers, and employees
- Responsible for project coordination as assigned, including internal and external audits, government reports, etc.
- Responsible for overseeing Spanish language training for medical staff
4. Administrative Support
- Responsible for responding to internal and external HR service requests
- Responsible for preparing employee communications, surveys, etc.
- Responsible for data entry, personnel file maintenance, tardy report, low level disciplines and leave requests, and other tasks
- Responsible for FMLA and other types of leave documentation, assisting in handbook maintenance/revisions, time off balances for staff, and employment verification.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Bilingual English-Spanish, preferred. Proficiency in English, required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, required
- Experience constructing and utilizing spreadsheets and strong mathematical ability, required
- Experience with payroll processing, preferred
- Experience with ADP, preferred
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in interactions both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high level of accuracy in data entry, database maintenance, composing written communications, proofreading, etc.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and cultural competency.
- Experience recruiting, screening, and interviewing individuals
- Experience working in a team environment; willingness to take on a variety of tasks in support of the team.
- Experience working on several projects simultaneously and managing deadlines successfully.
- Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to integrate Christian faith in the workplace; ability to share Christ with others.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to read fine print on paper, computer, and databases.
- Must able to lift 20 lbs., climb stairs, drive or travel to other EHC sites, and walk to and from parking lots.
