Summary
The Trade Finance Analyst will report to the Manager, Trade Finance and will be a key contributor to the Finance team in the area of deduction management and analysis. This role is critical in the successful tracking of key data components for Finance and Sales operations. The role requires administrative data entry work with a focus on accuracy and compliance. The role works across functions and as the company grows, this position will grow in responsibility.
The Trade Spend Analyst will be focused on three primary performance metrics:
- Timely delivery and accuracy of reconciliation of customer deductions
- Cross functional collaboration with Sales Planners and Sales to ensure accuracy and compliance of deductions with promotional plans and contracts
- Customer deduction analysis to provide insight on trends for accuracy of month end accruals and customer P&L reporting
Responsibilities

- Perform daily reconciliation of all customer deductions in Trade Promotion Management (TPM) Software
- Monitor and analyze accuracy of customer deductions against Sales promotional plan through our TPM Software
- Serve as the liaison between the Sales and Accounting teams to address discrepancies stemming from mismatched deductions and promotion contracts
- Assist in the management of our Sox Compliance, audit, and disputes process
- Identify and analyze customer deduction trends to ensure accuracy of trade accruals and customer P&L reporting
- Manage and reduce outstanding suspense balance in TPM Software on monthly basis
- Assist in accounting month end close processes
- Engage with third party vendor in the deduction reconciliation process
- Support Sales in accuracy of promotional plan in TPM Software
- Data entry of sales promotional plan for key accounts into TPM Software
- Ad-hoc reporting as needed
Requirements
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Consumer Packaged Goods and deduction management is a plus
- Understanding of Accounting terminology and principles
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Highly organized and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented, proactive, and a collaborative team player
- Strong analytical skills and a problem solver
- Takes initiative and seeks out new innovative ideas and solutions
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (v-lookup, pivot tables, formulas)
- Knowledge of Trade Promotion Management (TPM) Systems is a plus
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
