California Faucets is looking to bring on a Bilingual Human Resources Generalist. This role is an on-site position, in the Huntington Beach, CA office. The schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, full-time.

Job Description/Essential Duties:

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties and works closely with the Director of Human Resources in supporting all HR functions within the company. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, payroll processing, employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, leave of absence administration, workers compensation claim management, and employment law compliance.

This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill, and the business needs.

The HR Generalist’s responsibilities will fall into the following areas:

  • Benefits Administration: reviewing benefit packages with all employees and aiding with enrollment; reconciling benefit invoices and payroll deductions for benefits; organizing open enrollment meetings; and assisting with annual filings.
  • Payroll Processing: reviewing timecards and processing weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles for roughly 250 employees; monitoring attendance and compliance with our Paid Time Off (PTO) and meal period policies; entering and tracking garnishments, tax levies, and child support claims; maintaining PTO reports; booking payroll journal entries; and distributing paychecks/stubs to employees.
  • Employee Relations:acting as an employee relations specialist to handle complaints, investigations, and exit interviews; and providing counseling and guidance to managers on suggested disciplinary actions.
  • Performance Management:supporting the annual review process with preparation and analysis; reviewing all annual performance reviews prior to delivery; evaluating compensation increases; ensuring the timely completion of all reviews; and maintaining and coordinating employee recognition programs.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:conducting recruitment and onboarding efforts for all open positions; sourcing and screening candidates; writing job descriptions in English and Spanish; posting available positions through Applicant Tracking System; overseeing temporary labor hours and invoices; completing all new hire paperwork with newly-hired employees and maintaining personnel files; ensuring compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; processing E-verify and periodically performing audits on Forms I-9.
  • Workers Compensation Administration:managing claims and working to close/resolve them; contributing to workers' compensation review meetings; and ensuring compliance with modified duty.
  • Leave of AbsenceAdministration: confirming employee eligibility for leave; corresponding with employees out on leave; managing their return to work or leave extensions; responding to SDI claims, etc.
  • General HR Duties and Compliance: maintaining an open-door policy for staff to answer procedure and policy questions; maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations; keeping up-to-date on current market trends regarding compensation; responding to Unemployment and Disability Claims in a timely and efficient manner; assisting in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; preparing and maintaining the employee handbook in both English and Spanish; recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Performing other duties as necessary.

Education and Experience:

  • The desired minimum educational requirement to successfully perform this position is a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business, or other related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of broad HR experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish.
  • Prior experience supporting over 200 employees in an HR capacity is desired.
  • Knowledge of California and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and all Microsoft Office applications.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or other relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • Experience processing payroll is preferred, and experience with ADP payroll systems would be ideal.
