Salary Range: $45,000.00 to $48,500.00
JOB SUMMARY: Delivers comprehensive Human Resources services, spanning recruitment, onboarding, payroll setup, classification/compensation, employee relations, records maintenance, employee benefits, and leave administration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department.
- Answers standard questions related to policies, benefits, and hiring processes. More complex questions should be referred to the appropriate senior-level HR staff.
- Process payroll records, employee status changes, and employment related paperwork.
- Assist with pre-employment background checks, scheduling of new hire physicals, and the coordination of new employee onboarding for regular and student employees.
- Update employee database, generate reports, and maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
- Maintain positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, and management.
- FMLA, workers' compensation, and student employment.
- Support Benefits Specialist in processing benefits, including fringe benefits, FMLA, and workers' compensation.
- Assist with the tracking of employee physicals and vaccinations.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provide backup support to various HR functions and handle additional assigned duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with an HR concentration.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience positively interacting with diverse populations.
- Integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on standard operating procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn specialized software.
- Ability to work independently, organize, prioritize, and expedite workflow under demanding circumstances.
- Experience handling differing situations and problems in the work routine by exercising judgment based on standard operating procedures.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous functional human resource experience.
- Previous HRIS-related experience.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Supervision is received from the Assistant Vice President of Administration and Business Affairs/Director of Human Resources.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
None.
