Supports the University by implementing and administering Human Resources programs or policies.
Essential Functions:
Provides support for HR by performing personnel transactions and maintaining associated records and implementing Human Resources programs by providing Human Resources services, which may include recruiting and staffing, administration of compensation and benefits programs, training and development, employee or labor relations, organizational development, performance and talent management and affirmative action/equal employment opportunity compliance. Collects and analyzes internal and external information to compare and make recommendations regarding the University's HR practices to those prevailing in the market. Reviews and creates policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable labor laws or regulations and best practices. Develops and implement communications through various mediums. Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Job is physically comfortable; individual is normally seated and has discretion about walking, standing, etc. May occasionally lift very lightweight objects.
Working Conditions:
Standard working environment with possible minor inconveniences due to occasional noise, crowded working conditions and/or minor heating/cooling or ventilation problems. Near continuous use (>70% of the time) of a video display terminal.
Additional Position Information:
Education: Requires a relevant Bachelor's Degree.
Required Qualifications: A minimum of 4 years of experience in Human Resources, or related functions such as recruiting, administering benefits, employee compensation or job classification programs, or job and performance coaching. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to build collaborative relationships. Decision-making, interpersonal, and judgement skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
